X-Men is a superhero team series created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and published by Marvel.
The series follows a team of superheroes called the X-Men, all of whom are mutants - individuals born with genetic mutations that grant them various powers which awaken when they hit puberty. The team is founded and assembled by Professor X, who helps them train their powers in his X-Mansion which also serves as a school for mutants to learn how to use their powers. The team fights various villains, including other mutants who use their powers for evil, and non-mutant humans who wish to kill or control mutants.
