For detailed information about this series, see: Wrecking Crew at Super Mario Wiki
Wrecking Crew is a series of platform/puzzle games by Nintendo starring the popular Mario brothers, making it a spin-off of the Mario series.
Only three games have been released:
- Vs. Wrecking crew (1984), Arcade.
- Wrecking Crew (June 18, 1985), NES. Re-released for Wii Virtual Console in 2007, for 3DS Virtual Console in 2011 and for Wii U Virtual Console in 2013.
- Wrecking Crew '98 (May 23, 1998), SNES. The SNES game was released as a digital download for Wii U in 2016.
The first two are different versions of the same game, but it's unclear if the game was originally intended as a NES game and adapted to the arcade (as the title suggests) or if it was created as an arcade game and later ported to the NES (as some gameplay elements suggest). The third one features a more puzzle-oriented gameplay, but also includes a perfect port of the NES game.
