The Village is a period thriller film directed by M. Night Shyamalan and distributed by Buena Vista Pictures.
The film revolves around a quiet, isolated village in Pennsylvania. The residents of the village live in fear of creatures inhabiting the woods beyond it, referred to as "Those We Don't Speak Of." They are not to leave the village or the monsters beyond their boundaries will surely attack them. This pact stays true for many years, but when Lucius Hunt seeks medical supplies from the towns beyond the wood, the pact is challenged as animal carcasses, devoid of fur, begin to appear around the village, causing the council of elders to fear for the safety of the village.
