The Big Lebowski is a crime comedy film written, produced and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen and produced by Working Title Films.
The film follows Jeff "The Dude" Lebowski, who is assaulted by kingpin enforcers, mistaken for a millionaire of the same name. After tracking down his namesake, The Dude is commissioned by the millionaire Lebowski to deliver a ransom to secure the release of his kidnapped wife. The plan goes awry when The Dude's friend, Walter Sobchak, schemes to keep the ransom money for the Dude and himself.
