This page explains in detail the interactions between the Red Earth series and the Strider series.
Red Earth[]
November 21, 1996
A piece of concept art created for Red Earth shows the members of the combat unit the character Mai-Ling belongs to, "Feng Wu" (Wind Dance in Chinese). In this art piece the members are revealed to be four Capcom characters, all wearing Mai-Ling's uniform: Chun-Li from Street Fighter, Hsien-ko from Darkstalkers, Tong Pooh from Strider and June Lin Milliam from Star Gladiator. Tong Pooh is visible at the lower center of the picture performing her signature attack, a jumping back-turning kick which generates a large arc of plasma.
The concept art was published on the All About WAR-ZARD artbook. It is worth noting this is not an intended canonical tie between these series, with the art being a joke about other Capcom Chinese girls being the members of Mai-Ling's group.
Strider[]
February 18, 2014
The 2014 Strider video game includes a reference to Kenji from Red Earth in one of the "Fallen Striders", a set of unlockable costume/color sets that reference previous Striders who were sent to stop Grandmaster Meio before Hiryu and failed. The Strider Kuga costume is based on the palette of Kenji's red and yellow ninja uniform.
