Pikmin is a series of real-time strategy video games by Nintendo. It revolves around Captain Olimar and his Pikmin, plant-like creatures used to collect items, destroy obstacles, and fight giant monsters.
The series is only composite of four games:
- Pikmin (October 26, 2001), GameCube. Re-released in 2009 for Wii in the New Play Control! series, and this version was released for Wii U in 2017.
- Pikmin 2 (April 29, 2004), GameCube. Re-released in 2009 for Wii in the New Play Control! series, and this version was released for Wii U in 2017.
- Pikmin 3 (July 13, 2013), Wii U.
- Hey! Pikmin (July 13, 2017), Nintendo 3DS. A Pikmin amiibo was also released with the game.
A Pikmin 4 game is also in development.
A group of three short movies based on Pikmin 3, called Pikmin Short Movies, was also made available for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS through download on November 5, 2014.

|Animal Crossing||February 06, 2009||Captain Olimar sends a letter to the player during a special event in the PAL version of Animal Crossing: City Folk. Pikmin, while another treasure is an ocarina similar to the one from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time; additionally the Goddesses statues in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker are likely based on Pikmin.
