NES Remix[]

NES Remix includes challenges based on Wrecking Crew, some in their own category and some in "remixed" version. These are specifically:

Wrecking Crew[]

The eighth set of NES game challenges, unlocked after obtaining 130 Stars at challenges. It features 11 stages:

NESR WC 01
  • Stage 1: Divided in 3 sections, set in three different custom maps from Wrecking Crew, the objective is to destroy all walls in each one of them. The first section only features walls, with four of them on top of a pillar. The second section also features bombs, again with some walls and a bomb on top of pillars. The third section features walls, bombs and there also is a barrel blocking the bottom floor; Mario starts on the right side of the floor, so an arrow points to the right indicating that the player can go that direction to reappear on the left side. Time limit: 200s overall.
NESR WC 02
  • Stage 2: Divided in 4 sections, set in three different custom maps from Wrecking Crew, the objective in each one of them is to make all enemies go through the door in it, initially highlighted by a circle. The first section only features a door and a Gotcha Wrench. The second section features two Gotcha Wrenches and a door on the second floor. The third section features two barrels with an Eggplant Man and a door between, and a bomb outside for Mario to use to open the door from a distance. The fourth section features a Gotcha Wrench and a door on the first floor as well as the second floor, and also a bomb on a separate third floor.
NESR WC 03
  • Stage 3: Divided in 5 sections, all set in Phase 1 from Wrecking Crew, the objective in each one is to find a letter to form the name "MARIO" within the wall initially highlighted by a circle. Time limit: 20s for each section.
NESR WC 04
  • Stage 4: Divided in 3 sections, the objective in each one of them is to destroy all walls using the bombs. the first one is set in a custom map from Wrecking Crew, featuring some walls near bombs and two Gotcha Wrenches. The second section is set in Phase 6 after all walls and bombs are destoryed except for the top floor and the ladder walls. The third section is set in Phase 4 after the walls on the second and top floor are destroyed and the sixth floor walls are hit once.
NESR WC 05
  • Stage 5: Divided in 3 sections, the objective in each one is to destroy all ladder walls. The first setcion is set in a custom map featuring only one five-floor-tall ladder wall with a Gotcha Wrench on top and barrels blocking the right edge of the field. The second section is set in a custom map featuring three ladder walls, each with a Gotcha Wrench on top. The third section is set in Phase 5.
NESR WC 06
  • Stage 6: Set in the first Bonus Stage from Wrecking Crew, the objective is to find the hidden coin before Foreman Spike does.
NESR WC 07
  • Stage 7: Divided in 2 sections, both set in custom maps from Wrecking Crew, the objective in each one is to break all walls. The first section features various walls on the third floor, including some on top of pillars, and bombs to break them; on the bottom floor there are six Eggplant Men, but the two floors are not connected, so the player can only fall from the top floor to the bottom one. The second section features some walls on the third floors with a bomb and two Eggplant Men and a wall on the second floor; again the floors are not connected, so the player can only fall from the top one to the bottom one.
NESR WC 08
  • Stage 8: Divided in 3 sections, set in three different custom maps from Wrecking Crew, the objective is to trap all enemies in barrels in each one of them. The first section only features a Gotcha Wrench and a barrel on top of a pillar. The second section features four barrels on pillars near two bombs, and four Gotcha Wrenches, with one of them starting on an upper floor. The third section features six barrels on top of pillars with three of them on the second floor and three of them on the bottom floor near a bomb, and there are three Gotcha Wrenches, one one starting on the second floor and two on an upper floor; again the floors are not connected, so Mario and the enemies can only fall from the upper ones to the bottom one.
NESR WC 09
  • Stage 9: Divided in 3 sections, set in three different custom maps from Wrecking Crew, the objective is to knock all enemies down to the ground floor. The first section only features a ladder wall with a Gotcha Wrench on top. The second section features four ladder walls with two Gotcha Wrenches on top. The third section features five ladder walls with four Gotcha Wrenches on top.
NESR WC 10
  • Stage 10: Set in Phase 34 from Wrecking Crew after the walls and bombs on the bottom three floors are destroyed, the objective is to break all walls using the bombs.
NESR WC 11
  • Stage 11: Set in a custom map from Wrecking Crew featuring many barrels on top of pillars, some with bombs near, two Gotcha Wrenches and an Eggplant Man. The Objective is to trap all enemies in barrels.

Remix II[]

"Remix II" includes 3 challenges based on Wrecking Crew, each one unlocked by obtaining a specific amount of stars:

NESR Remix2 03
  • Stage 3 (155 Stars): Set in Phase 1 from Wrecking Crew, the objective is to destroy all walls, but the screen scrolls left and right rather than being fixed.
NESR Remix2 09
  • Stage 9 (195 Stars): Set in a custom map from Wrecking Crew featuring many walls on four floors, three bombs and two Gotcha Wrenches. The objective is to destroy all walls, but but all elements in the graphics are completely black, except for the background, which is grey rather than black.
NESR Remix2 19
  • Stage 19 (265 Stars): Set in Phase 6 after the center wall is destroyed, the objective is to destroy all walls, but the screen constantly zooms out. The screen zooms back in every time a bomb is used. Outside the frame the playfield repeats itself.

Bonus[]

The "Bonus" set includes 2 challenges based on Wrecking Crew, each one unlocked by obtaining a specific amount of stars:

NESR Bonus 15
  • Stage 15 (450 Stars): Divided in 3 sections, all set in different custom maps from Wrecking Crew, Mario starts with the Golden Hammer in all of them. The first section features a completely empty stage, except for a Gotcha Wrench and the objective is to knock it out. The second and third stages feature many walls on various floors and the objective is to break them all. The third section also features a bomb and a Gotcha Wrench. Time limit: 10s for the first section, 35s for the second one and 60s for the third one.
NESR Bonus 22
  • Stage 22 (540 Stars): Set in Phase 12 from Wrecking Crew, the objective is to break all walls. Time limit: 150.
