Mobile Light Force is a two-games "series" published by XS Games in North America and Europe, released at the same time in 2003. In truth, both games in the series are actually poor localizations of two unrelated Japanese games by different companies.
- Mobile Light Force is a sloppy localization of the first Gunbird for PlayStation originally released in 1994. This localization removed all plot-related elements including cutscenes and endings, took the in-game's fan art gallery and renamed some characters with names taken from XS Games employees. The game's cover art and title screen also feature a completely unrelated artwork featuring characters resembling the main trio from Charlie's Angels. This realistic artwork is the complete opposite of the anime-styled aesthetics of Gunbird, and the characters displayed don't appear anywhere in the actual game.
- Mobile Light Force 2 is a similar localization effort done to the first game in the Castle of Shikigami series for PlayStation 2 released in 2003. Just as before, all references to the original plot in-game were removed together with the screen rotation option from the original, although character names remained unaltered. The cover and title screen reused the same incongruent artwork as well.
While no further games in this "series" were released afterward, XS Games did release a proper localization of Castle of Shikigami 2 in 2004, with the game's manual calling the Special Attacks "Mobile Light Force 3 Attacks". Whether this was a slip-up of a possible initial intention to localize this game in the same manner as before or just a small nod to their previous efforts with the series is unknown.
