Mario4Arrow L Street Fighter

In this comic published on the german Club Nintendo magazine, Mario finds a sign which reads "Street Fighter II - Who will become grand master?" and decides to enter the tournament. After some training, the day arrives and he meets and he's scared by the other fighters, that include E.Honda, Dhalsim, Ken, Chun-Li and Blanka. At first Mario tries to quit the tournament, but is forced to fight by Donkey Kong, apparently a manager of the tournament. Mario and his first opponent are then introduced by the referee, apparently Luigi.

In Round 1 Mario faces Zangief, and while trying to escape from him, starts running around him, making him fall down dizzily, winning the match.

In Round 2 Mario faces Chun-Li, who immediately attacks him with her Lightning Kick, but he's able to win by tickling her feet with a feather, making her unable to fight.

In Round 3 Mario faces Blanka, and is able to win rapidly by throwing a banana on the ring, making him slip and fall out.

In the fourth and final round, Mario faces Dhalsim, that attacks by using his Yoga Fire. Mario makes him unable to use his fire powers by pouring a bucket of water on him, so he tries to fight by using his stretching limbs, but Mario is able to knot them together winning the tournament and the trophy.

License[]

Being a Nintendo magazine, Club Nintendo had the right to write about not only first-party games, but also third-party games released on Nintendo consoles, so they could include elements from Capcom's Street Fighter II in their comics.
