Mario Land or Super Mario Land is a series of platform/adventure videogames for handheld consoles created by Nintendo and starring Mario. It's a sub-series of the Super Mario series, which in turn is a sub-series of the Mario series.

Four games have been released:

  • Super Mario Land (April 21, 1989), Game Boy. Re-released in 2011 for 3DS Virtual Console.
  • Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins (October 21, 1992), Game Boy. Re-released in 2011 for 3DS Virtual Console.
  • Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 (January 21, 1994), Game Boy. Being a Wario game, and featuring Mario only as a cameo, it might not be considered part of the Mario series. Re-released in 2011 for 3DS Virtual Console.
  • Super Mario 3D Land (November 3, 2011), Nintendo 3DS.

5Arrow R Super Smash Bros. 20011121 November 21, 2001 Super Mario Land snd its sequel are referenced respectively in Daisy's and Wario's trophies in Super Smash Bros. Melee and respectively in Striker Daisy's and Super Mushroom's trophies in Brawl; Super Smash Bros. Brawl also features the underground theme from Super Mario Land.
