Knuckles is a video game series created by Sega.
A spin-off of the Sonic series, the series follows Knuckles, an anthropomorphic echidna born and raised alone on Angel Island, and is the sole surviving descendant of the echidna race from the Knuckles Clan who once inhabited the island. Knuckles solemn duty is to guard The Master Emerald, a powerful ancient gemstone kept on Angel Island. One day, he teams up with Dr. Eggman after being tricked into thinking that Sonic and Tails are attempting to steal the Master Emerald. However, when Knuckles is betrayed by Dr. Eggman, who steals the Master Emerald for himself, he realises his mistake and forms an alliance with Sonic and Tails to defeat him, soon becoming one of their closest allies.
