Jotaro Kujo, the main character of Part 3: Stardust Crusaders and the most recurring protagonist.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is a supernatural manga series written and drawn by Hirohiko Araki and published by Shonen Jump and Shueisha.

The series is split up into nine story arcs across several generations of the Joestar family, with each protagonist having a name that can be abbreviated to "JoJo". Starting in Part Three, each JoJo utilizes a supernatural power in the form of the Stands, physical manifestations of a person's fighting spirit which are usually named after music references.

Manga[]

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure has been under publication since 1987 and has currently spawned eight story arcs. The series currently has 134 volumes total and a 9th part is currently underway.

  • JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 1 Jonathan Joestar: His Youth (January 1st - October 27th, 1987). Covers volume 1 to 5, starring Jonathan Joestar as he fights the vampire Dio Brando. The part was later rebranded with the subtitle Phantom Blood.
  • JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 2 Joseph Joestar: His Proud Lineage (November 2nd, 1987 - March 27th, 1989). Covers volume 5 to 12, starring Jonathan's grandson Joseph Joestar as he deals with the Pillar Men. The part was later rebranded with the subtitle Battle Tendency.
  • JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 3 Jotaro Kujo: Heritage for the Future (April 3rd, 1989 - April 27th, 1992). Covers volume 12 to 28, starring Joseph's grandson Jotaro Kujo as he has to defeat a resurrected Dio to save his mother. The part was later rebranded with the subtitle Stardust Crusaders.
  • JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 4: Josuke Higashikata (May 4th, 1992 - December 4th, 1995). Covers volume 29 to 47, starring Joseph's illegitimate son Josuke Higashikata as he, Jotaro and others search the city of Morioh for a serial killer. The part was later rebranded with the subtitle Diamond is Unbreakable.
  • JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 5 Giorno Giovanna: Golden Heritage (December 11th, 1995 - April 5th, 1999). Covers volume 47 to 63, starring Dio's son Giorno Giovanna as he seeks to become the head of the Italian mafia group Passione. The part was later rebranded with the subtitle Vento Aureo ("Golden Wind" in Italian).
  • JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 6 Jolyne Cujoh: Stone Ocean (January 1st, 2000 - April 21st, 2003). Covers volume 64 to 80, starring Jotaro's daughter Jolyne Cujoh as she deals with a group of enemies targeting her father. The part was later rebranded with the subtitle Stone Ocean.
  • Steel Ball Run (January 19th, 2004 - April 19th, 2011). Covers volume 81 to 104. Set in a new universe unrelated to the previous parts, it stars Johnny Joestar, a disabled former jockey, and Gyro Zeppeli, a master of the art of the Spin, as they enter the Steel Ball Run race.
  • JoJolion (May 19th, 2011 - August 19th, 2021). Covers volume 105 to 131, starring the amnesiac Josuke Higashikata (unrelated to the part 4 protagonist) as he seeks clues to his identity and fights a mysterious race of Rock Humans.
  • The JOJOLands (February 17th, 2023 - Present). 9th part of the series, it stars Jodio Joestar, grandson of Joseph Joestar (unrelated to the part 2 protagonist), as he is an errand boy in Hawaii seeking to get rich.

  • Jolyne, Fly High with GUCCI (December 22nd, 2012). One-shot manga starring Jolyne.
  • JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Crazy Diamond's Demonic Heartbreak (December 18th, 2021 - May 19th, 2023). Spin-off manga by Kouhei Kadono and Tasuku Karasuma, starring Part 4's Josuke and Hol Horse, an enemy from Part 3.
  • Fujiko's Bizarre Worldly Wisdom -Whitesnake's Miscalculation- (December 18th, 2021). Spin-off manga by Sho Aimoto, starring Jolyne Cujoh.
  • Toshikazu Hamazada's Questionable Adventure (December 18th, 2024). Spin-off manga by Kyosuke Usuta, starring Toshikazu Hamazada before the events of Part 4.

  • JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (April 1st, 1993). A two-chapter novel set in Part 3. The Italian release has the added subtitle The Genesis of Universe.
  • GioGio's Bizarre Adventure II: Golden Heart, Golden Ring (May 28th, 2001). A novel telling an original story set in Part 5.
  • The Book: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure 4th Another Day (November 26th, 2007). A novel set as a sequel to Part 4.
  • Purple Haze Feedback (September 16th, 2011). A novel set as a sequel to Part 5.
  • JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Over Heaven (December 16th, 2011). This light novel presents itself as Dio's diary, an object introduced in Part 6, and is thus written from his perspective.
  • Jorge Joestar (September 19th, 2012). A novel starring George Joestar II (Joseph's father) and a version of him from another universe, Jorge Joestar.
  • El Aleph (March 19th, 2022 - December 19th, 2023). A novel sequel to Part 2 starring Lisa Lisa in the 1970s. Currently released in three sets or Arcs with a total 20 chapters, with a full novel published in April 18th, 2024.
  • Iggy the Stray Dog (March 19th 2022). A novel prequel to Part 3 starring Iggy and Muhammad Avdol.
  • testimone di gangster (December 19th, 2022). A light novel starring Squalo and Tizziano in an Italian trial in Part 5.
  • There's No Love Like a Parent's (December 19th, 2023). A light novel starring Melone and Ghiaccio in an assassination attempt. It is unknown if it takes place before or during Part 5.
  • My Prized Hook and Line (December 18th, 2024). A light novel starring Pesci and Porsecutto.

  • JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (November 19th, 1993 - January 25th, 2002). A 13-episode OVA animation by Studio A.P.P.P. An adaptation of Stardust Crusaders, the first six episodes are set in the middle of the story, with the remaining ones being a prequel adapting the beginning.
  • JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: The Animation (October 6th, 2012 - April 6th, 2013). A 26-episode anime series by David Productions, adapting the first two parts of the manga.
