It is a novel by Stephen King published by Viking Press, that would later be adapted into a mini-series on ABC and a movie series distributed by Warner Bros.
The story takes place over two different time periods, revolving around a predatory monster known as It, which can exploit the fears of its victims to disguise itself while hunting. It primarily takes the humanoid form of Pennywise, a demonic clown. The protagonists are The Losers Club, a group of seven outcast kids who discover It and vow to kill it by any means necessary.
