On June 25th, 2023, Fortnite announced a Futurama collaboration would be coming to the game tomorrow, along with a cinematic trailer. The trailer begins in MEGA City, as a commercial for Unicorn Flakes cereal glitches into the Hypnotoad. The Planet Express Ship then crashes into the screen, referencing the intro to the show, as Fry, Bender and Leela land on the Island.

Bender's Shiny Metal Raygun Mythic Fortnite

This weapon emits a continuous deadly energy ray.

Bender's Shiny Metal Raygun was a Mythic Item in Fortnite, first added on July 26th, 2023 and removed on August 8th, 2023. The name is a reference to Bender's trademark catchphrase: "Bite my shiny metal ass!" Bender's Shiny Metal Raygun fires a continuous, 100% accurate beam when used. It has infinite ammo and as such goes on cooldown after long periods of usage.

Bender Bending Rodríguez was a Character who appeared at the pier of MEGA City. He sold Bender's Shiny Metal Raygun (600 Bars), or could be hired for 200 Bars. Bender would say one of many different lines depending on certain interactions:

(gasp) A stuff machine! I love that stuff!
A vending machine! I hope it has creamed corn.
Ahhh, that's the stuff. What is this stuff?
And they... are… outta here!
As long as you’re down, can I rest my feet on you?
At last, a chance to use my toy ray-gun!

Bender's reaction to seeing a player using the Fry or Leela Outfits reference the episodes: "I, Roommate" and "Brannigan, Begin Again" respectively.
