The ninth episode of the fourth season of Boy Meets World (Overall episode 86) is about Cory, Shawn and Topanga partecipating in a tv quiz show and due to their popularity, it gradually changes its questions from academic topics to pop culture. In a class, Mr. Feeny complaints about how today's modern world puts entertainment before education and one of his examples is saying how people have access to the most advanced technologies and they're used to "Beat King Koopa and save the princess", in reference to Super Mario Bros.

Boy Meets World's company Disney held no right over Nintendo's MArio, but they only included a minor reference.
