The programming software Family Basic features some usable pre-designed sprites from Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr. including some of the platforms, ladders and vines, plus Mario, Pauline, the Fireball eney from Donkey Kong, and the Tori enemy from Donkey Kong Jr. Notably, Pauline is included as a possible playable character, so she features exclusive sprites of her jumping and of her falling.

Family Basic v.3 also features some pre-built games using these sprites, and in detail:

  • Game 0: The player has to speak into the microphone to make a heart appear. If the player is able to fill the entire heart, Mario and Pauline will appear, walk toward each other and kiss, in a scene reminiscent of Sheriff (see Family Basic games X Sheriff (Nintendo)).
  • Game 2: The player controls Mario and has to avoid enemies attacking him. The player has to design the level first, otherwise Mario simply falls off the level and loses.
  • Game 3: In this game, titled Star Killer, two players control two ships and must destroy the obstacles. These sometimes include Fireballs.
