In E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Elliott shows E.T. various Star Wars action figures, including Greedo, Hammerhead, Walrus Man, Snaggletooth, Lando Calrissian and Boba Fett.

Later, during the Halloween scene, a kid in a Yoda costumes passes by a disguised E.T., who waddles towards him, repeatedly saying "Home" before Elliot pulls him away. An excerpt of Yoda's Theme also briefly plays in the background.

In Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, after Queen Padmé Amidala calls for a vote of no confidence against Chancellor Valorum, head of the Galactic Senate, amongst the cheers and outrage, several members of E.T.'s species can be seen in the background in one of the Repulsorpods.

Steven Spielberg, director of E.T., included Star Wars references in E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial. George Lucas returned the favour by including an E.T. cameo in the next Star Wars film he made — The Phantom Menace.
