Title card of the episode.

The fourth episode of the Donkey Kong Country TV show, originally known as La Planète Donkey Kong in France, is titled "Raiders of the Lost Banana" as a reference to the first Indiana Jones movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark.

The plot follows Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong finding a golden banana in an ancient temple, and after DK takes it to give it to Candy Kong as a gift for their anniversary, a curse falls upon the Kongs, which brings them bad luck. This doesn't seem to directly reference the Indiana Jones movies, apart for the golden banana being found on a pedestal in a trap-filled temple, like the golden Chachapoyan Fertility Idol from the opening scene of Raiders of the Lost Ark.
