The TARDIS, an iconic symbol of the series.
Doctor Who is a British sci fi television show created by Syndey Newman, C.E. Webber, and Donald Wilson and aired on BBC.
TV[]
- Doctor Who (November 23rd. 1963 - Present). The show was off the air from 1989 to Spring of 2005.
- Doctor Who (May 12th, 1996). A made-for-TV movie narratively connected to the 1963-89/2005-Present series.
Films[]
Two films starring Peter Cushing as "Dr. Who" were made in the 1960s. These films are not part of the canon of the series, as they are remakes of two television stories, with the main character reimagined as a human scientist named Dr. Who. However, a scene written for the 50th anniversary special, "The Day of the Doctor", but not filmed, would have established that the films exist as movies in the canon of the series.
- Dr. Who and the Daleks (August 23rd, 1965)
- Daleks' Invasion Earth 2150 A.D. (August 5th, 1966)
Beginning in the early 2010s, occasional "event" episodes of the series (including the aforementioned anniversary special) were also shown in cinemas.
