Call of Duty is a first person shooter video game series created by Activision.
While the series features elements of war simulation, it features many original characters, factions and events.

Main Games and Expansions[]
The main series consists in nineteen games:
- Call of Duty (October 29th, 2003) for PC, MacOS, and N-Gage. It was also ported to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 as Call of Duty: Classic. Set in World War II. It received an expansion pack:
- Call of Duty: United Offensive (September 14th, 2004) for PC and MacOS
- Call of Duty 2 (October 25th, 2005) for PC, Xbox 360, and MacOS. It is set in World War II.
- Call of Duty 3 (November 7th, 2006) for PlayStation 2, Xbox, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii. It is set in World War II.
- Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (November 5th, 2007) for PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and MacOS. It takes place in modern day, specifically the year 2011.
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex Edition (November 10th, 2009) for Wii. A port that featured some new mechanics.
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered (November 4th, 2016) for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One
- Call of Duty: World at War (November 11th, 2008) for PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii. Set in World War II, it starts the "Black Ops" storyline. This game also introduced the Zombies mode, which returns in most later games and features a separate storyline.
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (November 10th, 2009) for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. Formerly simply known as Modern Warfare 2, it is a sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, set in 2016.
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered (March 30th, 2020) for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. A remaster of the single player campaign.
- Call of Duty: Black Ops (November 9th, 2010) for PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii. A sequel to Call of Duty: World at War, it is set during the Cold War era.
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (November 8th, 2011) for PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii. A sequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, it starts right after that game's ending, and is set in the following months. The "Hardened Edition" of the game also includes Soap's Journal, a fictional journal telling the events leading up to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
- Call of Duty: Black Ops II (November 13th, 2012) for PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U. A sequel to Call of Duty: Black Ops, it takes place over two arcs, one set in the 1980s and one set in the year 2025.
- Call of Duty: Ghosts (November 5th, 2013) for PC, PlayStation 3, Wii U, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It is set between 2017 and 2027, but in an alternate timeline than the previous games.
- Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (November 3rd, 2014) for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. It is set in the year 2054.
- Call of Duty: Black Ops III (November 6th, 2015) for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. A sequel to Call of Duty: Black Ops, it takes place between 2065 and 2070.
- Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (November 4th, 2016) for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It is set in an unspecified distant future.
- Call of Duty: WWII (November 3rd, 2017) for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It is set in World War II.
- Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII (October 12th, 2018) for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. While the game doesn't feature a single-player campaign, it is set between Black Ops II and Black Ops III in the multiplayer narrative.
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (October 25th, 2019) for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. A reboot of the Modern Warfare subseries. A free DLC for the game was also released as a stand-alone title for free:
- Call of Duty: Warzone (March 10th, 2020) for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One
- Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (November 13th, 2020) for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. A sequel to Call of Duty: Black Ops, still set during the Cold War era.
- Call of Duty: Vanguard (November 5th, 2021) for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It is set in World War II.
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (October 28th, 2022) for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (November 10th, 2023) for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (October 25th, 2024) for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC

While only United Offensive and Warzone are listed as expansion packs, additional content was added in all other games through minor DLC packs.

- Call of Duty: Black Ops - Zombies (December 1st, 2011) for iOS and Android. It is based on zombie mode from Call of Duty: Black Ops.
- Call of Duty: Strike Team (September 5th, 2013) for iOS and Android. It is based on Call of Duty: Black Ops II.
- Call of Duty: Heroes (November 26th, 2014) for iOS and Android. A real-time strategy game featuring characters from the entire Call of Duty series. The game was removed on December 22nd, 2018.
- Call of Duty: Mobile (October 1st, 2019) for iOS and Android. Initially known as Call of Duty: Legends of War, it was released to a limited audience on December 15th, 2018. It includes characters and elements from the entire Call of Duty series.

- Call of Duty: Black Ops III (November 4th, 2015 - September 14th, 2016). A six issue miniseries published by Dark Horse Comics. It serves as a prequel to the game.
- Call of Duty: Zombies (October 26th, 2016 and August 23rd, 2017). A six issue miniseries published by Dark Horse Comics. It is set in the Zombies storyline from Black Ops games.
- Call of Duty: Zombies (September 5th, 2018 - January 23rd, 2019). A four issue prequel series by Black Horse. It is sometimes called Call of Duty: Zombies 2 to distinguish it from the original comic.

Short Story[]
- Call of Duty: Black Ops II - Rightful King (March 2013). A short story released as a Kindle exclusive. Set in 1973, it serves as a prequel to Black Ops II.
- Call of Duty: Ghosts - Devil's Breath (November 10th, 2013). A short story released as a Kindle exclusive. Set sometime between 2015-2017, it serves as a prequel to Call of Duty: Ghosts.
- V.E.R.S.I.O.N. (April 29th, 2015). A short story released online. Following two storylines set respectively in 2037 and 2063, serving as a prequel to Call of Duty: Black Ops III.
Shorts[]
- Find Makarov: Operation Kingfish (September 2nd, 2011). A short movie serving as a prequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. While fan-made, it was officially endorsed by Activision.
