Nazo Waku Yakata
listed series
Upon completing the main scenario in Nazo Waku Yakata, a special "bonus chapter" is unlocked in the options. This chapter features a silly extra story where the protagonist encounters several Capcom characters. The chapter is set in the same manner as the rooms in the main game, and the player is required to hear sound cues in order to perform actions and win the minigames.
Capcom characters
The chapter begins with the protagonist getting suddenly attacked by a number of Capcom characters from out of nowhere. The player needs to avoid the attackers in order to proceed to the next room. The characters attacking the player include:
- Ryu from Street Fighter, using one of his promotional artworks from Street Fighter IV.
- Amaterasu from Ōkami and his son Chibiterasu from Ōkamiden, both using artwork from their respective games.
- Frank West from Dead Rising, using one of his promotional artworks from the first game.
- Mega Man in his 8-bit sprite form from the classic series.
After eluding his attackers, the protagonist rushes into one of the rooms in the mansion. He finds himself in the room of the demonic mannequin doll from the main game, a living mannequin with a penchant for taking off the faces of her victims and wearing them over her face. The minigame here has the mannequin doll try out some of her new masks and the player has to speak out the name of the character in question.
The masks she wears are Apollo Justice from Ace Attorney, Arthur from Ghosts 'n Goblins and a Servbot from Mega Man Legends. As she kills her victims to wear these masks, it is assumed these are the actual characters' "faces" rather than fake masks, and that she killed them to wear them.
The Ace Attorney room
After leaving the room, the protagonist ends up reaching the courtroom from the Ace Attorney series, complete with the series' recurring Judge on the seat. The protagonist tries to ask the court to stop the other characters from attacking him, but before the Judge speaks Phoenix Wright interrupts him with his iconic "Objection!" ("Igiari!" in Japanese). The text bubble, however, is colored purple instead of the normal red and slightly altered to resemble this game's logo. Wright then proceeds to win the case for the Capcom characters by revealing the reason he's under attack: the protagonist is actually a zombie. He then uses a mirror to reveal to the protagonist (and the player) that he is indeed a zombie.
The chapter ends with all Capcom characters attacking for a second time, with the words "FINAL ROUND" (in the font of Street Fighter IV) appearing on the screen.
