For detailed information about this series, see: Battle Clash at Wikipedia

Battle Clash, also known as Metal Combat, is a series of two first person shooter games released by Nintendo for the SNES, making use of the Super Scope peripherial.

BattleClash ST Falcon

The ST Falcon, the player controlled mecha from Battle Clash.

These are:

  • Battle Clash (October 1992). Later released in Japan as Space Bazooka with some minor differences.
  • Metal Combat: Falcon's Revenge (1994). Only released in North America and Europe.

The games are set in the near future, when a game called Battle Game where two giant robots called Standing Tanks, or STs for short, battle against each other for people's amusement and to decide who is worth of ruling the world. The plot follows Mike Anderson, designer and pilot of the ST Falcon, who enters the game to avenge his father, while the player takes on the role of the Falcon's gunner.
The second game introduced a female character named Carol, pilot of the ST Tornado, and gives the player the option to work on either the Falcon, the Tornado or other STs, with their respective pilot.

Since the two games have totally different titles they may be mistaken as two different series, however the second game is a direct sequel to the first one storywise, and features the same gameplay and characters, so it's correct to consider them one single series.
