In an interview with Nicholas Cornelius, Chief Marketing Officer at Halfbrick prior to video game's release it was confirmed that Dan The Man series exists within Barry Steakfries series as an Arcade game, which Barry was a huge fan of. The story behind the mobile version of Dan The Man is supposedly that Barry "got his time machine, went back into the 80's, yanked [an arcade machine] and brought it back to now". This was also set to explain Barry's appearance in the game, as he inserted himself into the game while porting it to the mobile phones.

Barry Steakfries[]

Barry Steakfries is one of four playable characters in Dan The Man. He is a premium character, who can be either purchased with real money, or recieved for free by inviting 5 friends to the game.
Barry is notable for having several major differences from other playable characters. He specialises in Area of Effect attacks, but the moves he shares with other characters are weaker.
Moveset:
Shotgun: A move exclusive to Barry Steakfries, available through the weapon button. Barry fires his short-range shotgun, a weapon he uses in most Barry Steakfries games. Unlike other weapons, it has an unlimited use, but also takes few seconds to recharage. It can be upgraded two times for more damage and being able to fire two times in quick succession. The second shot could be used to fire in the opposite direction.
Combo Attack: Press the attack button repeatedly. Similar to a Combo Attack of other characters, but can only be upgraded two times instead of three and does less damage to enemies.
Down Kick: Press the attack button while in the air. Similar to a Down Kick of other character, but can only be upgraded one time instead of two, can't be used two times in quick succession as a result and does less damage to enemies.
Jump Bash: Press the jump button again in the air. Replaces the High Kick move other characters have, using the shotgun to hit enemies. Can be upgraded to hit enemies from the back.
Jet Punch: Grab the enemy by pressing forward when near them, then press the jump button. Similar to the Uppercut attack other characters have, but does slightly less damage to enemies. Notably, Barry uses his Machine Gun Jetpack during this attack.
Power Attack: Hold the attack button to charge, then release. Barry's version of this move doesn't propel him forward, but makes him attack opponents from both sides.
Fright Zone[]
Fright Zone is a DLC chapter in Dan The Man, implied to take place after the cliffhanger of Age of Zombies, in which Professor Brains tells Barry that he's going to invade the other worlds and "enslave [Barry's] favourite characters" with zombies. The first level starts with Barry teleporting into Dan The Man world, rescuing Dan from zombies and telling him about Professor Brains' evil plans, promting the two to team up. Professor Brains, the central antagonist of Barry Steakfries series makes several appearances in the cutscenes.
Jetpack Joyride Event[]
A Jetpack Joyride Event was added to Dan The Man on October 8th, 2021 to celebrate that game's 10th anniversary. It added 4 costumes for Custom Character, 3 emotes and 5 icons. During the event, several exclusive levels are available.
