Angel episode You're Welcome[]
February 4, 2004
In the 12th episode of the fifth and last season of Angel (Episode 100), in a scene Spike is sitting on his couch playing what seems to be Donkey Kong oddly on an Xbox. Sounds and music from the game can clearly be heard, and while playing Spike says:
- You made the biggest mistake of your life, and I'm gonna make you pay. Oh, yeah.
- Feel my wrath, gorilla throwing barrels.
- (Mario's dying sound is heard)
- Bloody hell.
The scenethen proceeds with him talking to Doyle, while continuing to play. He explains that he's playing only to train his newly attacked hands. After a while Doyle talks with Eve at the phone and Spike loses again at the game:
- Come on! You stupid plumber!
Angry, he throws the beer can at the tv, throws the controls down and starts rattling the TV and Xbox.

Fox and Mutant Enemy Productions, that produced Angel don't hold any right over Nintendo's Donkey Kong, but they only included a minor reference to the game.
