The scene in the movie Stormbreaker where the character Smithers, played by Stephen Fry, shows Alex his gadgets, ends with him showing a modified Nintendo DS, featuring various espionage functions depending on the cartridges inserted. Along with three espionage "games" (called Call-Up, Panic Station and Green Screen), he also gives Alex a copy of Mario Kart DS to play, but he initially thinks it has special functions too.

Additionally, boxes for Super Mario 64 DS can be seen piled in the background, along with copies of WarioWare: Touched! and Yoshi Touch & Go.

This modified gaming console is based on the "Multifunction Games Console 5198 ATTILA" from the Stormbreaker novel, which was disguised as a Game Boy Color.

The movie producers actually signed a deal with Nintendo to use the Nintendo DS as a prominent feature in the movie. This deal likely also included the use of the newly released Mario Kart DS and Super Mario 64 DS.
