(500) Days of Summer is a comedy-drama film directed by Marc Webb and distributed by Fox Searchlight Pictures.
The film follows hopeless romantic Tom Hansen, a trained architect who works as a writer at a greeting card company, and Summer, the new administrative assistant for Tom's boss. Although they have many things in common, and Tom is in love with her, Summer doesn't believe in true love or soul mates, and isn't looking for romance. Despite this, the two become more than just friends. The film is presented in a nonlinear narrative, jumping between various days within the 500 days of Tom and Summer's relationship, as Tom reflects on their relationship to try and figure out where things went wrong.
